Cool Summer Treats

Children are out of school and always looking for something cool and fun to eat. These recipes are simple and fun. Get the kids together and make some summer treats!

Fudgesicles

1- pack regular chocolate pudding mix

3 ½ cups of milk

Prepare as you would for pudding. Sweeten to taste if needed, Freeze in paper cups (empty yogurt cups work well also) with plastic spoons inserted for handles or wooden popsicle sticks if you have those on hand. Or if you have molds that is even better.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

Spread softened ice cream to the edges of any cookie (chocolate chip, sugar, graham crackers) Then press the other cookie gently on top of the ice cream covered cookie – making your own ice cream sandwich!

Lemon Ice

2 cups water

2 cups sugar

cook on low for about 10 minutes. Cool.

Then add:

¾ cups lemon juice

2 cups water

pour into ice trays or bowls and put in the freezer until it gets the consistency in which you enjoy. It takes about an hour for it to get to the slushy stage.

I hope you will enjoy these delicious, cool treats on the upcoming hot days of summer!
