Illinois Caverns is the name given for their caves. It was known for a time as Mammoth Cave of Illinois. The owners installed electricity in about 1947 but after continued failure to not turn a profit, it was sold to the State of Illinois in 1985. The cave is located on a 9.25 acre tract of land and has been called Burksville Cave, Egyptian Cave and Eckert Cave. Lots of history and no photos.
