Forty Acre Rock Heritage Preserve There are 2 photos. One says it is taken from the top of the 40 acre rock. Don't know if that is on top or looking down. The other photo is of flowers. The rock is actually 14 acres and not the 40 as it is called. It does indeed mention a cave. History? The history is vague and there are no photos. The Hancock Timber Resource Group. The Nature Conservancy, South Carolina Preserves Interesting history and descriptions of Preserves in South Carolina. Almost no photos. Rivers Bridge State Historic Site, they have all the state parks, local parks and National parks. But they also have an extensive photo gallery. The opening page is for Rivers Bridge State Historic Site but no sign of a bridge. |

Rivers and Creeks, Waterfalls all with beautiful photos. In the Photo Gallery, you will find shoreline collections with docks, piers, water of course, birds, an otter, fishing boats, bridges of all sizes, cattails and palm trees, lighthouses and beaches, flowers and butterflies, pretty fog, Cathedrals, churches and cemeteries, even an octopus and waterfalls. Some of the photos at the bottom of the page would not open but I clicked on the spot and was able to see the collection within. There is even a castle. Wow. These were just from the "Images of the Coast" and they are all so beautiful. This website is by SCIway . net That's the rivers page. Find many state parks, lakes, historic districts, historical information, waterfalls, lakes, the last covered bridge, the oldest stone bridge in SC and the Possum Trot School. It is a restored one room schoolhouse built in 1880. Costal South Carolina. |

Historical Markers: Birthplace of John C. Calhoun, also find other nearby markers. It was rather odd that his birthplace, present condition?, looks to be a photo of a mobile home. He died in 1850. Perhaps it is more like a museum. |
