New England Towns This page is for Sutton. "Purgatory Cavern," in this town, is a great curiosity. It is a fissure in gneiss, nearly half a mile long, in most parts partially filled by the masses of rock that have been detached from the walls. The sides are often perpendicular, and sometimes 70 feet high; being separated from each other by about 50 feet. The above link to the cavern just loops back to itself. New England Towns The opening page is for Adams and does mention a very large cave, gorge and mountain. Just vaguely. No name for the cave, no photos. Mount Greylock is a Berkshire County Attraction in Western Massachusetts at Adams, MA. Lots of history and perhaps lore, but no mention of a cave at all. But this page presents a beautiful story.

Belcher's Cave of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Notes about Belcher's Cave. You will see one photograph saying it is a counterfeit cave. It is a real cave where they were counterfeiting money.

Mt. Norwottuck and the Horse Caves lots of nice photos, none of inside a cave. If you go far enough, you'll find a picture of a butterfly on some flowers.
