Alaska

Investigations in Alaska is a fun read with some good photos of the area. Most pictures are dark and you cannot tell what you are supposed to see.

Underneath Alaska is a series of pages about exploring caves.

Cavern Lake Cave, showcave/showcave says that it is a cave you cannot get into and there are no photos. Very little info but it mentions a viewing deck. It is not a showcave. Webshots offers several photos. Not really sure about the waterfall. But it is very pretty.

Crow Creek Mine, Big Nugget Mine, These were mentioned but no other info found.

El Capitan Cave: I found the following "Northern Prince of Wales has an extensive karst landscape and some 600 caves, including the largest known cave in Alaska, El Capitan. El Capitan is one of the longest mapped caves in the Americas; over two mile of passages have been mapped from the main entrance. In addition to El Capitan, visitors to the area can explore nearby karst
areas at Beaver Falls Trail and Cavern Lake Trail." No photos but the info is interesting. On this page, find notes on El Capitan Cave with several photos. Also see the middle of the page for On Your Knees also known as Southeast Cave. Notes with 2 photos at the bottom of the page.

Alaska Spelunking Glacier Ice Caving, Lave Tube Caving, Leprechaun Cave, Mystery Mountains, Prince of Wales Island, Wrangel Mountains, Stereo Cave and it is a fun site to visit.

University of South Dakota, this is most amazing. Follow the studies and exploration of the following: El Capitan Cave, Blowing in the Wind Cave, Bumper Cave, Kushtaka Cave, Zina Cave, On Your Knees Cave, Lawyers Cave, Hole 52 Cave, Enigma Cave, Kit'n'Kaboodle Cave, Puffin Grotto, Nautilus Cave, Colander Cave, Otter Den Cave and Deer Bone Cave, Hoonah Area, Ai Chi Pit, and pages on Research Results, Bird Fossils, Fish Fossils, Radiocarbon Dates, Stable Isotopes. This is an incredible collection of work. Note that all photos are enabled for you to click on them to see a larger view. This is just way too much fun. So very much description and detailed text and oh the beautiful pictures.

SEACAVES Research in Southeast Alaska some interesting notes and a few photos. Bones found in Alaska dated. All text.
