Coral Caverns: One of our most distinctive features is the coral reef, a towering fossil wall, containing the fossil remains of coral and other sea-creatures buried over 400 million years ago when Pennsylvania was partially covered by "The Great Inland Sea." The Showcave/Showcave page has some history and general info. Shawnee State Park & Coral Caverns but the photos are of the people going on the trip. There is just a little description of the park. Crystal Cave Park has one photo but is panoramic. Pick the Take a Look Inside the Cave link. At the bottom it shows Video Tours but it does not work. Watersheds. TV has photos and lots of history. They mention that part of the tour is when the guide turns out the lights and you get a sense of how total the darkness really is. But the photos are all taken in the dark and nothing is clear or bright. Webshots has some great pictures. |

Indian Caverns' homepage has lots of recent history and beautiful photos. Click on "The Cavern" to find the ancient past history and some incredible pictures. Awesome. Indian Echo Caverns site has all the tourist attractions but look for The Cavern tab on the top line, as you see the book in the middle of that page, move your bat (cursor) over it and click to open the photo album. Laurel Caverns' website offers no history and only one photo. Find the link to Caving and then you can see the big old hole. That's the extended tour where you go into the rough and unrefined parts. And it's dark. The Wikipedia page. Deep Creek Times has a page full of fun. A YouTube trip. |

The Lincoln Caverns page will show you a few photos but has no history. Showcaves/Showcaves has no photos but some interesting history and description. Webshots has some pretty pictures, 34 - 40 are of Lincoln Caverns. Flickr has a photo page? collection. The photo that opens is labeled Lincoln Caverns but the rest are not titled. |

Lost River Caverns and showcaves/showcaves has good history info. No photos. This one is called Panoramio and is all photos. The cycle seems to end with a very sad looking young man who is someone's brother. But there are some very good photos of the caverns. |

Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park Click on the Cavern Tours to realize that there are no pathways, only water and you can only travel by boat. The wildlife tour is by motor vehicle, no hiking. But no cave history and only a few photos. Webshots has some good photos. Showcaves/Showcaves has a lot of history. |

Red Panther's Woodward Cave The site only gives info on the souvenir sales and campgrounds, playgrounds. There is no actual history only vague info about caves in general and only a couple of photos on the opening page. Have to wonder if they are from Woodward Cave. Red Panther was the son of an aged Seneca Chief... read the legend here in Showcaves/Showcaves. PBase photo pages Beautiful and lots of good shots. Click on any thumbnail and you will get a full screen version. |
