Bear Lake Valley, Minnetonka Cave National Scenic Byways, The largest commercially developed limestone rock cave in the state of Idaho, and one of the highest with an entrance of 7,700 feet. Only a few photos but they are awesome. Time Stands Still for Minnetonka has a good bit of history. It was originally named Porcupine Cave because a group of Boy Scouts found the remains of a porcupine in one of the chambers in 1912... then renamed the cave Minnetonka, a Native American word for "falling water," because of the dripping ceiling.

Shoshone Ice Caves by Roadside America gives you a bit of history about the ice caves. Photos of the area, a few of inside the Ice Cave and even more of the mountains and lava flows of about 2,000 years ago. Look to the two "classifications" and read more interesting info. Click here... but lots of history and description. Nearby Shoshone Ice Caves is Bennett Hills Recreation Management Area which has fourteen lava tubes. One of them, called T-Maze Caves is accessible for visitors but undeveloped. There is also a cave which is the best example of a blister cave in Idaho. This area is administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The Gooding City of Rocks and the Little City of Rocks have strange rock formations rising from the desert floor. The Bennett Hills, located on the north edge of the Snake River Plain, are composed of welded volcanic tufts formed when intense volcanic eruptions in the region produced dense clouds of ash which fused together on the ground over time. (I could find no other info about Bennett Hills so they are combined here.)

Idaho's Mammoth Cave Lots of history and photos but I couldn't make them slow down enough to watch. Don't know why. They are considered a show cave but have no lighting, only lanterns. The Waymark Page has some history and description with one photo. Outdoors with Juan is a fine collection, four parts but read them all. You will find so many more caves and learn so much about the volcanoes of the area. Lots and lots of  photos and history.

Idaho Rod & Reel, Idaho's Outdoors, that is fishing but here is a lot of history about how these beautiful lakes came to be.

Trails.com of Idaho a very long list.
