Arlene says, "I just completed learning, from the master himself, how to do sandblasting art on glass and I tell you I loved it, but my 73+year old hands had a hard time doing it. It was not to bad doing all the steps with the design and the resist and then "weeding" out the pieces I wanted to sandblast, but doing the actual sandblasting in the big machine with my hands inside gloves and looking
through a glass covered box was hard to do and sometimes see. I had to take a lot of rests. I will put this in a stained glass piece. Here are two views of it.

I have been experimenting with glass painting:

Arlene's Iris is a rainy day painting. I have some of these growing in our garden each year. None are up yet, so I decided to paint one. This is done with gouache water colors and Prismacolors watercolor pencils on 100% acid free cold press paper. The size is 4.5" x 6" unmatted and unframed and is is on sale here for $12.95 with Free shipping.

It has also been put onto greeting cards so please see them here.

3/20/08 painting diary note: "Yellow Cornflower" is today's work of art and it cheers me up because the temperature has dropped from the high 60's to the high 30"s. We have a bright day and spring is making its way through the garden. It will be quite awhile before these Yellow Cornflowers make an appearance. However, a memory is just as good. Un-matted and unframed this 4.5" x 6" watercolor is on 100% acid free hard press paper. I had it put on a really wonderful tote bag. Click here to view.
