Sorry I haven't written in a while. Life just gets so busy some times and then there's that nothing that seemed like it would be of interest to your readers has been going on. |

I dropped the real estate idea. The manager of
the office I was going through was so discouraging. Not by
anything she did, but by what she didn't do, which was anything.
She had no contact with me, offered no support, no help....nothing.
Even when I contacted her first. My friend that went through the
classes with me gave up for the same reason. She was through a
different office, but had the same manager. I don't know, I
guess she must not of thought we were real estate material and didn't
want bothered. Her loss. So, for employment I'm still
driving a school bus, though I'm switching to a different school
district/bus company for the fall. It's a little bit further to
drive, but it pays a good bit more than where I was and from all
reports there are less behavior problems and better driver support
when there are problems. I've also just started selling Avon.
I thought "how hard can it be?" Well, after doing 3
on-line training courses at the web site this afternoon my head is
swimming! It has really changed since my mom and I sold it back
in the late 70s and early 80s. It really can be a full-time
career if you want to put that much into it. That wasn't my
goal, but we'll see where it goes.
I ended June and began July with a very nasty virus
that came out of absolute nowhere and hit with the force of a runaway
train. It only lasted about 12 hours, but it took so much out of
me (literally...I lost 10 pounds in that 12 hour period) that I was
left feeling week and not quite right for about a week.
We had a large picnic for family and friends on the
Fourth. It rained off and on so we put the tables in my mom's
garage, but were still able to have a fire in the new pit Tim made.
We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and later made mountain pies.
It was hot in spite of the rain so the pool got a good workout.
Four days after that we left for vacation....a wonderful week on
Chincoteague Island, VA. We vacationed there a couple years ago
and absolutely loved it, so back we went. The kids each brought
a friend this year and all the kids were old enough to strike out on
their own a bit so Tim and I got some time alone to just relax and
explore. Very nice. So nice we actually started pricing
real estate. Prices are quite high so we're a few years from
even being able to seriously think about buying anything. That
will give us enough time to decide if we just want a vacation home or
if we actually want to pick up and move. We've really done our
homework and feel sure we'd like life there year round if we decided
to move.
Tim is still working for the same commercial
construction company and loving the work as much as ever. It's a
good thing since he usually works 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day and
sometimes 7 days a week.
Matt has finished his first year at Pittsburgh
Technical Institute and did well enough to make it into the Security
and Forensic program. Megan finished up in the middle school and
begins high school next month. The time is sure flying.
Most of June was a little on the cool side with lots of
rain. This past week, though, we've had the same awful heatwave
the rest of the country's been experiencing. It sure warmed the
pool water up. It rained today and the temperatures were a good
bit cooler but the humidity was still very high so it wasn't very
comfortable.
Well, I need to head to bed because I'm getting up at
4:00 to get honey/garlic wings going in the crockpot for my family
reunion. I hope all is well with you and that the heat isn't too
unbearable.
