George W. Jones |
|
| George W. Jones is the father of my dad, George
David Jones and his sister, Ruth Elizabeth Armstrong-Jones. From what I
understand of when Ruth was very young, George W. planned a fake
suicide. He and one of his brothers staged an accident with a train
engine. The story lingered but no one believed it. There were some
clothes tossed about but no body, no blood and no clues. Truth was that
he had another complete family including marriage and a son named
George. That is why my dad was always called Bob or Bobby. Mr. George W.
was told he must choose one family and leave the other. He was never
again seen by my dad or Ruth.
I am sending a request now to the last remaining person who might know any more about the fellow. George W. Jones was George David Jones' father. His father was Henry R. Jones. Mother always called him John Henry. (from Aunt Dorothy Tweedt) |
